As students, we’ve experienced firsthand the inefficiencies of traditional class scheduling. Too often, student placement decisions are made with limited insight, which creates imbalanced classrooms, overburdened teachers, and missed opportunities for student growth. That’s why we built Rectify, an AI-powered platform designed to make class grouping faster and more effective. Our system brings together data from students, teachers, and even parents to help schools create well-balanced classes that support teacher satisfaction while simultaneously boosting student morale and academic growth. At Rectify, we believe educational systems should work for those in the academic community, not against them.
Problem
The United States traditional class scheduling that’s been used for over a 100 years is outdated and lacking in many aspects compared to other countries.
The impact can be seen through the students and teachers, who both struggle with not being placed in the most effective classrooms. Students are placed with peers that are often on a different level and may learn differently from them.
Teachers, on the other hand, are forced to handle mixed-ability classes that forces them to accommodate the students that are struggling with the course, rather than the entire classroom. In either situation, both parties are stressed and unsatisfied with the academic compatibility forced upon them.
